The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked rumors suggesting that Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for 16 February have been postponed.
INEC's National Commissioner for Voter Education and Publicity, Mr. Festus Okoye, said Friday evening that Nigerians should ignore the rumors. INEC's chairman had earlier foreclosed the possibility of postponement, stating that "INEC is not even contemplating the possibility of a postponement."
